Thank you to Palo Alto Networks and Exclusive Networks for raising over £5000 towards Lewy body research

On Saturday 25th June, a team from Palo Alto Networks, a leading global cyber security company, completed their Hikers versus Bikers charity challenge, supported by their sponsor, Exclusive Networks.

Nineteen walkers completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks, a 26 mile walk in the Yorkshire Dales over the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The “hares” team completed the walk in 10hrs 15mins and most of our “tortoises” team in 11hrs 30mins, although an extraordinary effort by two in this team were walking for an epic 15hrs 30mins!

The rival cyclists, also split into two groups, completed different routes each across the rolling beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The hares completed their 103 mile ride, including well known climbs such as Fleet Moss and Kidstone Pass, in 11 hours 47 mins. The tortoise team, climbing past the summit of Pen-y-ghent and over Halton Gill, a loop of 63 miles, in 8 hours and 55 minutes.

The team have already raised over £10,000 via their Virgin Money Giving page, a total which is sure to rise through a company supported donation matching SMILE scheme for employees.  This sum will be split between Samaritans and the Lewy Body Society.

If your workplace has a match-giving scheme or charity of the year, we would love to be considered.  Please contact us and we can supply leaflets, posters and t-shirts.
