The Lewy Body Society is proud to announce our chief executive has been nominated for two awards.
Jacqui Cannon is a finallist in the Third Quarter Women category, at the 34th Inspiring Women’s Awards.
This new award recognises women aged between 50-75, from across the UK, who have seized the opportunity to reinvent themselves and are acting as positive role models, breaking down ageism and gender barriers.
Jacqui said: “After spending the first half of my career as a business analyst in the IT sector, caring for my dad when he developed Lewy body dementia showed me where I wanted to spend my third quarter.
“As the CEO of the Lewy Body Society, I now spend every day supporting families, like my own, who need help and information when a loved one becomes ill, funding researchers investigating better treatments, educating health care professionals about one of the most misunderstood forms of dementia, and lobbying decision-makers to prioritise dementia.
“Age brings experience and experience bring expertise. Third Quarter Women are leading the way to make the changes we need to see in society.”
Winners will be announced at a glittering awards lunch at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on Friday, May 15.
Jacqui has also been named in the Outstanding Contribution of the Year category in Wigan Borough Business Awards.
The Outstanding Contribution Award celebrates individuals who have made a meaningful and lasting impact within Wigan borough’s business community, whether through leadership, mentorship, innovation, or supporting colleagues and peers. Ithighlights the positive impact one person can have in driving growth, collaboration, and a culture of excellence across Wigan and Leigh.
“While the Lewy Body Society is a UK-wide charity, we are very proudly headquartered in Wigan along with many of our partners,” Jacqui said. “I am very proud to have been nominated for this prestigious award in our home town in our charity’s 20th year.”
The Wigan Borough Business Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 26th September 2026.
