A Scarf For Lewy in Scotland!

Well done to Lorraine and friends who braved a cold and foggy morning and wrapped a 530m scarf around Bennachie, a famous hill in Inverurie.

Lorraine, along with her friends Jenny and Matthew, take on a different challenge every year and call themselves ‘The Wallys’

They knitted in memory of Patrick McRobbie who died last year with with Lewy body dementia. His wife Helen helped with the knitting, even with her arm in a sling from a broken shoulder, and many other knitters got involved too. As well as raising awareness, they have collected nearly £2000 to support our work.

Loraine told us:

“The reason I wanted to raise money for The Lewy Body Society was because of my colleague Karen, who lost her dad Patrick last year, a day after I lost my brother to lung cancer. I do a challenge every year for different charities which involves Bennachie, a very popular hill in our area. Knitting over 500 metres of scarf was a challenge, but it was great to bring A Scarf for Lewy to Bennachie!’
