Christmas Day swim in memory of Tim Malyon

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Sofia, Finn and a large group of their friends and family who braved the cold Exmouth sea on Christmas Day to remember their dad Tim and raise funds for The Lewy Body Society.  We are very impressed by your bravery and grateful for the donations which total over £3000.  The team’s JustGiving page can be found here.

Here Sofia tells us why they chose to support The Lewy Body Society

11 years ago our dad, Tim Malyon, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease with Lewy Body Dementia and over the past 11 years his ability to do all of the things he loved was slowly taken away from him. Prior to his diagnosis Tim was a prominent photojournalist, radio producer, drug rehabilitator, counsellor, charity organiser and was physically very active with travelling the world, hiking, windsurfing and playing the violin. There was nothing he loved more than to be outside and active.  He always did work to give back to the people and touched the lives of many through his kind and gentle nature. There are no words that would do him justice to say how remarkable a man he was and he is greatly missed by us all.

More information about Tim’s work can be found on his website here.
