New members sought for our Specialist Advisory Committee

The Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) of The Lewy Body Society is looking for new members.

The SAC is a multi-disciplinary team of health and social care professionals with backgrounds in research and practice. It is responsible for reviewing all grant applications and advising the Lewy
Body Society on its workplan, adding credibility to the charity and providing expert input on specific pieces of work.

The Lewy Body Society is the only charity dedicated solely to Lewy body dementia in the UK and is a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). Through our application and review processes we aim to fund the highest quality research with the aim of making a real difference to the lives of people with LBD. Over the last 15 years we have funded over £1.8 million in grants to improve our understanding of Lewy body dementia, its diagnosis and treatment.

Details of the current membership of the SAC can be found on our website here.

The Committee meets 3 times per year, with each meeting lasting 3 – 6 hours. Meetings are held both virtually via Zoom and in-person. Preparation for meetings may include reviewing grant
applications, reading policies or other documents. The role is unpaid, but travel expenses will be reimbursed.

If you are interested in joining the committee then please email a brief CV (2-4 pages) and details of your relevant experience, (no more than 500 words) to info@lewybody.org.

If you would like an informal discussion about this, please email Jacqui Cannon, Chief Executive, on info@lewybody.org.

The closing date for applications is Friday 29th April at 12:00 noon.
