We are the only charity dedicated solely to dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) in the UK. Through our application and review process we aim to fund the highest quality research so that we can make a real difference to the lives of people with DLB.
2018 grant round for research
We are pleased to announce that the call for applications to our 2018 grant round is now open.
We welcome applications for projects that will increase our understanding of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) as well as improving care for people living with this condition.
Grant round details
- Opening date: Monday 26th March 2018
- Deadline for applications: 12 noon, Friday 29th June 2018
- Decisions and Start Dates: Most funding decisions will likely be communicated in October 2018 with an earliest start date of January 2019.
What do we fund?
The Lewy Body Society will consider any application that is relevant to dementia with Lewy bodies in our grant round.
For this call, the society has up to £500,000 to allocate and will aim to fund 2 – 5 projects.
Grants will be awarded up to a maximum of 3 years.
We will fund:
- PhD studentships
- Junior Fellowships
- Innovative awards
- Project grants

Grants are tenable only at a UK host institution.
Principal applicants should hold employment contracts that extend beyond the period of the grant.
